But who did this, John?

Americans for Prosperity, the billionaire Koch family political advocacy group, endorsed John E. Sununu late last year as the candidate to replace the retiring Senator Jeanne Shaheen. To that end, they have allocated $850,000 to New Hampshire. Sununu’s father, former NH governor John H. Sununu, served as chief of staff to then-President George H.W. Bush. He successfully steered Bush away from addressing climate and environmental concerns, seen here in the eye-opening documentary The White House Effect.

Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point Action has become very active in their pursuit of getting Sununu elected to the Senate.

And the ads? They have certainly been something to watch . . .

In one 30 second ad Washington is touted as “politicians who put politics over results by increasing spending and driving up our cost of living.” Sununu claims he is going to slash that wasteful spending, cut taxes (never says for who or even how he’ll accomplish this) and eliminate job killing regulations.

Spoiler alert: it’s not the “in the minority Democrats.”

First; the wasteful spending is coming from the “president” and his many vanity projects and/or illegal war with Iran.
Next; the do-nothing 119th Republican majority Congress have perpetrated and allowed this wasteful spending of our tax dollars.
And finally; at the end of 2016 there were 12.3 million manufacturing jobs. After uncontrolled deregulation by the regime, there was a small increase and right before COVID struck in Dec. 2019, there were up to 12.8 million manufacturing jobs, an increase of less than 4%. At the end of 2023, after COVID and three years of intense regulatory action by Pres. Biden, manufacturing jobs had risen again to nearly 13 million.

Sununu wants to undo that?

Another 30 second ad from AFP promises Sununu will cut taxes (still doesn’t say how) for working families who are exhausted and stretched thin by rising costs and dysfunction in Washington.

Another ad has him promising no pay for Congress during government shutdowns. A good soundbite, but there are three reasons listed here why that is an empty promise and most Americans don’t know that, myself included. One reason, it is a Constitutional requirement, Article 1, Section 6. So, good luck with that.

But who is behind that dysfunction and rising costs, John?

Let’s see . . .

Two years ago, the price of gas was $3.13 a gallon (still too high). Today? $4.19 (or more) a gallon
Two years ago (residential) electricity cost 17.5 cents a kilowatt. Today? 27.01 cents.
Two years ago heating oil was $3.50 a gallon. Today? $5.97.
Two years ago ground beef was $5.35 a pound. Today? $6.79.

Yeah, we are stretched thin and exhausted by these rising prices. But who did this? Not the “in the minority” Democrats.

A reminder, during Sununu’s first stint in the Senate, he voted 4 times against lowering prescription prices. In July 2010, after being defeated by Jeanne Shaheen, Sununu joined one of the largest law and lobbying firms in Washington, DC. Akin Gump hired him as a Senior Policy Advisor and he remained until 2019. Akin Gump also represents domestic and international gas and oil leaders in their transactions. Remember the Keystone XL Pipeline? Akin Gump was hired to lobby on behalf of the Pipeline.

Reminiscent of The White House Effect?

Sununu’s net worth is estimated at around $22 million, derived from his congressional salary (3 terms in Congress, one in the Senate), lobbying work, board memberships and teaching. Total amount of his assets are estimated to be $8-$36 million.

Somehow, I don’t see the Sununu family as stretched thin or exhausted by ANY rising prices. And blaming the minority party is just another distraction lie.

“The vote is precious. It is the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it.”
